Marea (pronounced ma·rè·a) means "tide" in Italian. Navigating the changing tides is the perfect metaphor for our ever-changing business landscape.

Our company was founded in August 2020 by Tanya Jones, building on her extensive experience leading multiple HCM project implementations and overseeing day-to-day HR and Payroll system operations as the HRIS Director at a leading Alberta company, ATCO Ltd. Tanya worked at ATCO in progressively senior roles for 13 years.

In October 2020, Rinette Yeo-Church and Olivia MacDonald joined Tanya to complete payroll system testing for the Saskatchewan Health Authority's Oracle HCM implementation (58,000 employees). The Marea team performed payroll system testing until October 2022, testing complex business requirements and collective agreement provisions. 

In November 2022, Marea Inc. joined a new Oracle HCM project with the Government of Saskatchewan. Over the course of 15 months, the Marea team completed testing in the HCM Security, Core HR, Absence Management and Payroll modules, in addition to completing data conversion analysis and validation. 

In May 2024, the team returned to the Saskatchewan Health Authority and supported their go-live in June 2024, providing post go-live Production payroll support and training for the SHA and their affiliate Payroll teams.

In February 2025, the Marea Inc. team returned to the Government of Saskatchewan and supported their Oracle HCM and UKG implementation with testing, documentation and cutover execution for their phased go-lives in November 2025 (FIN & SCM) and June 2026 (HCM & UKG).

• The HR Functional Analysts at Marea Inc. have worked on Oracle Cloud HCM and Kronos (now UKG) implementations, as well as operational Payroll. The team has extensive subject matter expertise in Payroll, Core HR, Benefits, Time & Labour and Absence modules in Oracle HCM. They have participated in multiple test cycles, including the creation of test plans, reviewing and executing test scripts, completing data conversion mapping, functional integration testing and preparing end user and business process documentation.
